Dudes, we are taking Christmas very seriously around here this year. Every day there is some paper craft, some cookies to decorate, some movies to watch or books to read or Santa to visit or presents to buy…. We’ve been busy.
I’m going to stay true to form here, and just blog a ton of photos in an effort to appease everyone who is cranky for me for not posting more regularly. I’m busy over here! All this baking and gluing – it really takes it outta you.
.
PSA #1 - If you let the two-year-old help make the cookie dough, you must prepare yourself for a flour mess of biblical proportions –

You should’ve seen the kitchen.

Why, yes! That is flour on his TOES. No, I’m not sure how he managed it.
.
PSA #2 – if you let the kids decorate the cookies, it will quickly turn into an experiment on just how many toppings one cookie can support –

They both call the red hots “hotties”. It never gets old.

The joy! The sheer bliss that sugar brings!

Whoa. That is one full cookie. Can he handle it?

Yes! He! Can!
.
PSA #3 – letting little kids decorate the tree, while cute, can lead to all your ornaments being hung on the same 3 branches.

Uh, honey? There’s kind of a lot of ornaments right there already….

And this one! I remember when she was part of the problem – now here she is helping us redistribute the ones her brother hung. How does this happen?
.
Having everyone hanging around in front of the tree can also lead to funny hats and posed photos –

I have labled this “Naughty and Nice” on Flickr. Look at those faces! Does he not look like he’s planning something? Something that would earn him some coal?
.
And that’s about it. We’ve also been doing an awful lot of Christmas crafting, but I’ll post about that on the other blog. Here it’s all cookies and singing and watching Shrek the Halls and decorating the tree and reading Christmas stories…

Reading silently. Where did my baby go?
.
… and playing Superheros –

He is the Super Pooper! Three days using the potty and counting!
.
Ah, wait. I’m not sure that last one belonged in the Christmas post.
Merry merry, everyone! ![]()

hmmmmm where to start….. are those moms christmas photo ornamants? do you have all of them???
that incredibles outfit is great, i love it.
when did jonas get so tall, is he up to violets eyes?
i really like the pic trio with v and the cookie. it really tells a story, one with a happy ending : )
thats it for this post, on to the next.
Those are Mom’s photo ornaments. We can discuss how many I have when I see you.
The incredibles outfit used to just be jammies, till Jonas demanded a “super hero mask!” Now one of Joe’s black t-shirts has a sleeve that’s about 3 inches shorter than the other. Mwah ha ha.
Jonas almost caught up to her this summer, but then she shot up another couple of inches. But, yes, he’s up to her eyes. He’s a big boy.
I love those 3 pictures, too.
